Tobogganing

Whizzing down the freshly snow-covered winter mountains at full speed has always been a delight for young and old alike. No prior experience, no training, and no extensive equipment is needed—just hop on your sled and off you go at breakneck speed toward the valley! Right in Juns, there are two fantastic toboggan runs with kilometer-long tracks and night lighting.

Höllensteinhütte: 4-kilometer run

The first toboggan run takes you up to the Höllensteinhütte at an elevation of 1,740 meters. Active vacationers can combine the run with a roughly 60-minute hike. A bit more convenient is the toboggan taxi, which takes you directly to the start of the run. Here you can also rent the right toboggan, which you’ll then use to speed down 4 kilometers toward the valley. The elevation difference is 440 meters. The entire toboggan run is illuminated and can therefore be used well into the evening.

The toboggan run lighting also serves as a guide: red lights signal tight curves, yellow lights mean you should pay attention to the course, and green lights mean full speed ahead! When tobogganing at the Höllensteinhütte, be sure to note the taxi and tobogganing schedules, which alternate. By the way, the Höllensteinhütte houses a small inn serving hearty meals—perfect for a quick bite after long afternoons of tobogganing.
